512 mb ram

does anyone know if a 512mb ram chip will fit/work in a win98 machine?
I'm pretty sure there isn't an arbritary limit on win98; i do know theres a limit on 32-bit systems of 4gb. i used to boot win98 from an old hard drive on my desktop back when it still had both 256 meg chips, totalling, 512 megs, and it got into windows (justr had driver conflicts that wouldnt let it go the rest of the way)
you might want to google it just to be sure.
