I have been trying to convert a 3ds model into act format.

I have 3DS Max8, Milkshape 1.7.7 and Gmax. I have the exporters for Gmax and they are in the plugins dir. I exported them and got an nfo file. Where do I go from there? Milkshape does not offer an export to act.

Cut and dry with detail, How does one get a 3ds file converted to act.

I have used the docs that came with RF and have lookied through the forum.

Information for this is spread thin and incomplete in most cases. It takes me only so far and then stops. Is there a complete tutorial on this matter? I need one that will take me from begining to end.

Milkshape3D does not directly export to the .act format but to the .bdy (mesh) and .mot (animations) formats. You then use AStudio (in the tools folder) to build the .act file. The .nfo format can also be used in AStudio to build an actor.

I tried that and when I tried to put my gun in the level it didnt display any model in the editor. I tested the level and it gave a generic windows error and said that it had to shut down. I checked the RealityFactory.log and there was no entry there for the event.

Without any info to go on what should think is a possible issue?
