how do you compile source code?

i was looking at this engine and it said you had to compile the code.
so i was wondering how do you do that?
i know it has something to do with visual basic.
could someome explain?

You only need to compile the source if you want to customize the engine to suit your needs better. If you are just making a game with RF you don't have to compile it, almost any kind of game can be made with RF without doing any changes to the source code.

im not talking about with RF.
i wanted to try out this engine Nebula 2 since it supports alot of the latest graphical features but unfortunately it only comes in the sdk.

you're better off asking this question on a nebula 2 forum...
