i just came up with the best idea, cos i like all u so much and have helped me so much, when done, i will put it up for who ever wants it for free!!!
i had fun making it thats all i wanted, it wont be able to be used within RF because of the polly count but for a cut scene or one of thos close up using the LOD system mabe... hmm thats an idea! but yea free when i done.

well good news, main sword hasnt taken as long as i origanly thought... i have the model complete
YAY!!!
now im going to texture it and then give a pic of it, the next step will be to animate it, shouldnt be too hard for the main sword as they just close up.
and then work onto the other swords, man im having fun
and a BIG thank you to all of your posotive replies, the last little bit went a bit wrong in a perfect reproduction as the reference image i used wasnt correct. grrrrrr.... so i have tried to make it look as best as i can, shouldnt be to noticable to the untraind eye. but im happy so going to leave it as it is.

well i have decided to post the current version of the sword, version 0.2 just the main sword on its own at the moment and untextured.
if anyone can tell me how to make a file downloadable using microsoft frontpage then i will have room for the textured version.
each release will be in steps of 0.2, thats 4 swords and then the final animation.

Wow, great work.
The detail is unbelievable! Mind if I make a lowpoly version and use it in my RPG?

sure Juutis, one thing i would like, if you mod mine to make it low polly all i would like is to have my name in credits or somewhere, if you just want to create another thats low polly then go ahead thats fine, afterall it is based on a film, other people have made it before me so im not stopping you.
and thanx for the posotive rivew, it isnt a perfect replica, im not sure how the handle guard joins to the sword and also the things i call "teeth" in the middle there is a jaged edge like this
Code: Select all
_____ ________ ________
\________/ \________/ \
this isnt acurate in position and size due to the reference photo being
faulty but apart from that i belive that it is perfect in all dimentions, as i took time to use reference photoes and calculated the prespective angle to find out the width of the insides.
sorry for the edits, when i submited this it kept removing the space from the the diagrame above
so the code was the only way to get it to keep the spaces.

well todays going well, i have completed the second sword and almost finished the third, the fourth one is a little harder but i think im gona make the next release of 0.6, 3 of the 4 sourds and then rlease the final version after that.
it hasnt taken me as long as i thought it would so thats the reason for skipping a few releases like i was gona originaly.
