In whatever program you've imported it you probably have to reasign the texture again

I found the best tool for generating terrains is L3dt it is free and it does the texturing for you. You can then use T2 (another free program) to split the terrain and reduce the polys, split the textures in Gimp (another free program). It's a bit messy doing all that but it is very cheap and you can end up with a nice terrain. You can use Terragen(free) to make the skyboxes.

I mean it also must of exported a texture. And the program you import the model into, won't know that that texture's the model's. So just give it the exported texture

Are you using Nems? Just put your texture in your txl file, open the map in rfeditpro, select the whole terrain, and assign your texture to it. Then build the rest of your level on top of you terrain.

In the folder Reality Factory/media/levels, are the .txl files. Just choose one of them, go to Reality Factory/tools and open the program RFPack (or something like that) open the txl you're using in your level, get the terrain's texture and drag and drop onto the program. Save, and then open the level editor, select the terrain, select the texture, and hit the button "select"

Under RF Tools in your install folder, you will find the RF Texture Packer. This program is used to create and maintain TXL files. In the editor, the textures you see are held in a TXL file in the \media\levels folder. You start with the TXL file called default. To add or subtract textures, you open the TXL file in the RF Texture Packer, drag and drop your new texture to add, or select and press the delete key to remove. Then save the file.
Texture must be 8, 16 or 24 bit BMP bitmaps, or 32 bit Targa TGA images in square measurements of 8 x 8, 16 x 16, 32 x 32, 64 x 64, 128 x 128, 256 x 256, 512 x 512, etc. I wouldn't go bigger than that, as they can bog things down. A big TXL file can be a burden on your project. Also, make sure your texture is tileable both horizontally and vertically.

Nems uses WAD files, not TXL files. I believe you can use Wally, a free Quake texture editor to remove individual textures from WAD files.
